A New Play by Emmet Kirwan

Directed by Phillip Mc Mahon

Set in the mid-90s, a turbulent period in Tallaght’s social history, against the backdrop of the Drugs Out marches, Straight to Video is a biting new comedy written by, and starring, Emmet Kirwan.
A buzzing ensemble comedy with a huge heaving heart featuring a stellar cast, it promises to be a thought-provoking night full of belly laughs and a real tonic for audiences returning to live theatre.
Presented by Landmark Productionsin association with The Civic and Project Arts Centre. Straight to Video is made possible through Landmark’s Arts Grant Funding from The Arts Council.

Masterclass - Brokentalkers & Adrienne Truscott
‘No one enjoys being equal’ - David Mamet

Blending the fearless and savagely comedic feminist discourse of Adrienne Truscott with the subversive and slippery dramaturgy of Brokentalkers to parody the “great male artist” to within an inch of his life.

The show begins in the form of a cockamamie masterclass performed by fed up feminist Adrienne Truscott and all around good guy Feidlim Cannon. It’s fun. It’s familiar. There are wigs. But there is something more at play…

A live show about a dead woman.

Outside the Louvre in Paris, a woman’s face is taken without permission. It becomes more famous than she ever was. You’ve seen her without realising who she is. You might have even kissed her.

This new live theatre performance explores the twin human obsessions of intimacy and autonomy in a show that begins in an intimacy coordination workshop and ends with an out-of-body experience.

Ellen Kirk is an Irish scenographer and production designer working across film and screen-based projects, with a background in contemporary theatre and live performance. She works in close collaboration with directors and writers to shape the visual language of a project from its earliest stages. Her work is marked by rich and detailed world-building, striking imagery and distinctive dynamic moments.

Her debut feature as production designer, Everybody Digs Bill Evans (dir. Grant Gee, Cowtown Pictures / Hot Property UK), premiered in competition at Berlinale 2026, where it received the Silver Bear for Best Director. Her recent film work also includes Room Taken (dir. TJ O’Grady Peyton), an Academy Award–shortlisted short which won over 20 international awards, and An Encounter (dir. Kelly Campbell), which won the Grand Prix Short at Cork International Film Festival and Best Irish Short at Dublin International Film Festival. Her screen work was previously recognised with a nomination and judges’ special mention for the Aer Lingus Discovery Award at Dublin International Film Festival.

Alongside her narrative screen work, Ellen has production designed and art directed a wide range of music videos and short-form projects, including Hozier’s De Selby II, and multiple collaborations with Kojaque and Soft Boy Records. These projects span both stylised and narrative-driven work, and have involved close visual collaboration with musicians and directors to build distinctive worlds, often within compressed production timelines and budgets.

Ellen has also built an extensive body of theatre work across Ireland and internationally, collaborating with many of the country’s leading contemporary theatre artists and companies. Recent stage projects include set and costume design for Konstantin (Dublin Theatre Festival), set design for 0800-CUPID (Dublin Theatre Festival and Soho Theatre, London), and frequent work with multi-award winning company Dead Centre, most recently designing Illness as Metaphor (Project Arts Centre, Dublin and Viernulvier Festival, Gent). She designed Brokentalkers’ Masterclass, which received a Scotsman Fringe First Award at Edinburgh and went on to tour extensively internationally, including performances at Sydney Opera House and Skirball NYC. Earlier collaborations include This Solution by Shaun Dunne and Party Scene with THISISPOPBABY.

Across film, theatre, and music projects, Ellen is drawn to work with directors and artists with a strong authorial voice, approaching design as an integral narrative layer rather than a purely decorative one. She is co-founder of the Dublin performance collective Murmuration (Resident Artists at Project Arts Centre), an associate artist with THISISPOPBABY (2023, 2024), and was named one of The Irish Times’ “50 People to Watch in 2026.”
